Carolina Panthers Cheering Squad

The Topcats is the official cheering squad of the Carolina Panthers. They are the reason behind the victory and success at every home game at the bank of America stadium. The cheering squad is composed of 27 women and represents the region of Carolina and ranges from the age of 21 to 35 years old. Before they join the squad, they were professionals in the field of finance, business, teaching and medicine.

The members of the squad underwent an intense and comprehensive process. The final squad members are selected based on their showmanship, dance skills, personalities and physical fitness.


The Topcats are visible all over the region of Carolina. They usually appear at corporate and charitable event, schools and hospitals. All request Topcats appearances must be made 30 days prior to the event. You can call them directly and file a request form. With a variety of dance styles and music selections, the Topcats appeals to fans of Carolina Panthers of all ages.

The staff of Carolina Topcats includes Richelle Grant and Tina Becker. Becker is the manager of the cheerleader and the mascot and all other aspects of the program. Grant Serves as the choreographer and coordinator and is responsible for the appearances and other programs of the Topcats.

Moretz sports is the official sponsor of the Topcats, it supplies all apparel and sock ware of the cheering squad. Moretz supported the Topcats since 1997 up to date. Palm Beach is another sponsor of the Topcats. They provided the Topcats with dozens of Ergoline tanning beds plus the Mystic tan.

Auditions in becoming a member of the Topcats is scheduled on their website. The Topcats website provides information about the schedule and any upcoming events. Members of the Topcats experience the thrill of performing in front of the thousand fans of the Carolina Panthers. Usually, auditions are held at the Bank of America stadium. Trainees will undergo check up then first preliminary round then the second, semifinals, and finals. Candidates chosen will join the Topcats program and will undergo a three weeks evaluation period before they are officially selected as a squad member.

Qualifications of being Topcats member must be at least 21 years old. Must have high school diploma and must undergo drug test as well as complete criminal and civil background check. Formal dance instructions are not a prerequisite. You must have strong dance skills and must be fit especially for practices and other events. There will also be an interview before the audition to check on your personality. Fans can search for different information regarding the Topcats events, training, and appearances on their website. Members of the Topcats serve as an ambassador of an organization at corporate events and charities. They donate time and talent in the community through charitable projects.
